Jason Mraz - I Won’t Give Up

Adam Young’s response to Taylor Swift’s Enchanted. Cute

Just go

I really want to drop everything and travel around the world. It isn’t really who I am though. I’m a practical person and quitting my job to travel around for a few months just isn’t practical. It doesn’t matter. This is something that I really want to do. I have been going to school since I can remember and I started work pretty much right out of university. I am discussing these thoughts with a friend from university and she is on the same boat as me.

Seeing the world, meeting new people and trying different foods (of course). It all just sounds so appealing. So what’s holding me back?

I listen to this song whenever I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed. This song will be on repeat for a while.

Odd

That awkward moment when you find out your younger cousin may no longer be a virgin…while scrolling down your dashboard on Tumblr.

Soft

Palliative care is not for softies. I was at a client’s house the other day and almost cried. Let me paint a picture for you.

This elderly client was not doing well and death was (is) not far. He became very emotional because Christmas (their favourite holiday) is right around the corner, as well as their anniversary. As if that wasn’t hard enough, his wife started crying. These two love each other so much that it would be devastating if one lost the other.

Anybody would have a hard time keeping their emotions in check in that situation. I had to look up at the ceiling to stop the tears from rolling down my face. I had to take a few deep breaths. I had to take a step back and be professional and be strong for them. I have to toughen up and hold the tears back until I get home. haha.

Kind Gestures

Doesn’t it make you feel good when someone unexpectedly does something nice for others? Today, my preceptor and I went to Tim Hortons, but when she went to pay, the cashier told us that a lady in front of us paid for the whole line’s orders. How sweet is that? We had no idea who this lady was. She just decided that she was going to pay for a bunch of strangers.

It’s moments and people like this that really change a person’s day and make a positive impact. My preceptor was so happy even though her coffee was only $1.52. It wasn’t that she saved money. It was that someone was nice enough to do that for someone she didn’t know. It’s moments and people like this that make you stop and reevaluate your actions.

this season, this song is all the much sweeter

It’s been a while since I listened to this song. It’s December already. I might as well start with the Christmas music.

Just letting you know

It’s odd when people act like they are above stereotyping others when they are one of the first to do it. I’m talking about the people saying that they want to change gay stereotypes, but they are the first person to make a joke about homosexuals, use “That’s so gay” or “You’re a fag” as an insult, and get offended when they are called “gay” and proceed to threaten that person. These things are annoying, not to mention offensive. Some people I’m close to say these thing and some people I’m close to are gay. I will defend the latter every time.

These people might not realize they do and say these things. I just thought I would bring it to their attention. I’m all for the desire to stop the negativity towards homosexuality. We just have to remember to back it up with our actions.
